Razer Switchblade

When you think of a hardcore PC gaming machine — even a portable one — a 7-inch device doesn't really come to mind, ever. Razer, makers of some of the coolest gaming accessories on the planet showed off the Switchblade, a prototype device with a 7-inch multitouch screen that can handle anything your Alienware tower can.

Touted as as one of this year's best gadgets of CES, the Switchblade is an impressive little notebook computer that runs on an unreleased variant of the Intel Atom processor (seen in most netbooks and nettops). The mini notebook runs a full copy of Windows 7, has a capacitative multitouch screen (1024 x 600 resolution), 128GB SSD, 3G, Wi-Fi, HDMI-out and one USB port.

Razer CEO, Min Liang-Tan told us not to be fooled by the Intel Atom processor, and although he couldn't tell us what type of GPU (Min didn't answer if it was powered by Tegra 2) the Switchblade was running on, he assured us that the device was using hardware acceleration to provide the most punch in such a small package. The Switchblade is not like OnLive, it's not streaming games, it runs graphic-rich games like Left4Dead and World of Warcraft with playable frame-rates of up to 30 natively.
